Photo Contest Rules

Gather your best photographs of individual roses or rose gardens and share them with other members of the SRS. Greg Sohrweide will judge the photos.

Here are the Photography Contest rules:

1. All photographs must have been taken by the entrant, who must be a member in good standing of the Syracuse Rose Society.

2. You are permitted a maximum of 5 entries per class.

3. Photographs must be 5’ x 7’ or less.

4. All photographs must be mounted (no picture frames allowed).

5. No mounting can be greater than 1” larger than photograph.

6. All photographs must have photographer’s name on back only

7. Photographs will be judged 50 per cent on quality of the bloom(s) and 50 per cent on photographic excellence.


CLASS 1: One bloom or spray, exhibition stage or open bloom(s).

CLASS 2: Rose garden, rose society activity, mass of roses (including artistic arrangements), and abstract or impressionistic photographs of a rose(s) plant or any portion thereof.
